On Thursday night, the Marble Falls Area Volunteer Fire Department responded to a rescue call on County Road 340, north of Marble Falls, Texas, where a man had driven his vehicle through a flooded low water crossing. Fire Chief Derrick Curtis reported that the vehicle was swept off the road, leaving the driver trapped inside. Firefighters John Cufr and Jared Payne arrived on the scene shortly before 10 p.m. and found the man approximately 5-10 yards off the road. The driver explained that he was out for a night drive and did not notice the water covering the roadway. Firefighter Payne detailed the rescue process, stating that they first secured the driver with a life jacket and provided instructions for his safe exit from the vehicle. Once they successfully extracted him, they brought him to safety on dry land. The volunteer firefighters were also on alert for additional calls related to flooding, showcasing their preparedness for emergencies during adverse weather conditions.
