On Wednesday, video conference hearings at the Delhi High Court in New Delhi, India, faced significant disruptions when a user, identified as Shitjeet Singh, played pornographic videos three times during proceedings. The first incident occurred around 12:56 PM, leading to a brief suspension of the session. However, upon resuming, the user played the content again, stating, 'This is a hack from the United States. Turn off the meeting right now, do not turn it again. You’ve been hacked.' This prompted the court to shut down the virtual proceedings entirely until they reconvened post-lunch around 2:30 PM. Despite the interruptions, physical court sessions continued without disruption. The Delhi High Court administration has since filed a complaint with the Delhi Police's Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations unit (IFSO) to investigate the matter. Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya has instructed registrar general Arun Bharadwaj to take action against the dissemination of such videos, emphasizing that recording court proceedings is against the rules. This incident is not isolated, as similar disruptions occurred in September 2024, affecting the integrity of the court's virtual hearings.
