In a significant incident, a hostel owner in Sikar district, Rajasthan, stumbled upon a potential examination scandal linked to the NEET-UG 2026 exam. The situation began when an MBBS student received a PDF 'guess paper' that matched many questions on the actual exam. After sharing it with a chemistry teacher, they discovered that 135 questions from the exam were identical to those in the leaked material. Despite initial police reluctance to act, the matter escalated to the National Testing Agency (NTA), which subsequently cancelled the examination. The NTA confirmed that new dates for re-examination would be announced, and existing applications would remain valid without additional fees. The investigation has revealed a broader network selling the leaked paper across various states, including connections to students in Haryana and Maharashtra. The identities of the individuals who uncovered the leak have been kept confidential for security reasons.
