During the week of May 30 to June 5, Russian troops reportedly liberated two communities: Tikhonovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Komsomolskoye in the Zaporozhye Region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. In a series of military operations, Russian forces inflicted heavy casualties on Ukrainian troops, with Battlegroup East reporting over 3,045 personnel losses. Overall, across various battlegroups, the Russian military claimed to have caused more than 9,000 Ukrainian casualties, alongside the destruction of significant military assets, including tanks and armored vehicles. In retaliation to Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory, Russian forces conducted multiple precision strikes on Ukrainian military-industrial sites and infrastructure, further intensifying the conflict. Additionally, Russian air defenses successfully intercepted 3,084 UAVs and 47 smart bombs during this period. The cumulative losses reported by Russia since the beginning of the special military operation include 671 Ukrainian combat aircraft and 29,621 tanks, underscoring the ongoing intensity of the conflict.
