On Wednesday, Gurugram police apprehended four suspects involved in the kidnapping and assault of a 22-year-old man who was contacted via the Grindr app. The incident occurred on Monday night when the victim was forcibly taken from outside his rented house by the suspects in a white Swift car. They drove him to a secluded area near Kasan hills, beat him, and demanded ₹50,000 (approximately $600 USD). The victim was threatened with death if he did not comply. During the assault, they snatched his mobile phone and transferred ₹2,500 (around $30 USD) to their account. Following the victim's complaint, an FIR was filed at the IMT, Manesar police station, leading to the swift arrest of the accused. The suspects, identified as Ashish, Naresh Kumar, Shivam, and Ashu, are reported to have drug addiction issues and committed the crime to fund their habits. Police are also planning to notify Grindr about the incident.
