The BJP has responded by sending prominent leaders, including national president Nitin Nabin, to campaign in Sattur, highlighting the importance of this constituency in the upcoming elections. Historically, since 1989, the Tirunelveli constituency has alternated between the AIADMK and the DMK, which adds further complexity to Nagenthran's decision.
