Marat Grigorian, a former ONE Championship title challenger from Armenia, is laser-focused on capturing the ONE featherweight kickboxing world title after his impressive first-round knockout victory over Kaito at ONE SAMURAI 1 held in Tokyo on April 29. This victory marked Grigorian's third consecutive win, solidifying his case for another title shot against reigning champion Superbon. In a post-fight interview, Grigorian stated, "I want a title shot, of course. That's my only goal now: to be the ONE world champion. As soon as possible for me. I'm ready already; I just need some mental break a little bit to reset everything in my mind, and after, I'm ready to go." Grigorian previously defeated Superbon outside of ONE Championship, but their last two encounters did not end in his favor. Currently, Grigorian may have to wait for a title opportunity, as Superbon is recovering from an injury that forced him to withdraw from a scheduled title defense against Liu Mengyang on May 22.
