In a significant move to modernize education, the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics in the school curriculum starting from the current academic session. This decision follows a two-day national AI conference organized by PSEB, which included workshops by tech giants such as Google and Intel, aimed at promoting responsible AI use in educational settings. PSEB Chairman Dr. Amarpal Singh highlighted the importance of AI in daily life, stressing the need for proper understanding to mitigate potential risks associated with its misuse. An action plan will be developed to integrate AI into the curriculum, with computer education set to include AI and robotics from Class 8 onwards. The conference also featured participation from various education boards, including those from Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, CBSE, and UT Chandigarh, where approximately 30 experts shared insights on AI's future.
