In a tragic incident in Bhajanpura, Delhi, two friends, Rohit Kashyap (31) and Hemant Sharma (33), lost their lives when a speeding car collided with their motorcycle late on the night of May 8. The friends were returning home after attending an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The police reported that the driver of the car, aged 27, was arrested and charged with rash driving and negligence leading to death. The victims were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident, which occurred approximately 3 to 4 kilometers from their homes in Karawal Nagar. Rohit worked for a travel agency and is survived by his wife and two young children, while Hemant was employed at a logistics company. This incident marks the second accident and the fourth death involving fans returning from IPL matches in the capital in just over a week, raising concerns about road safety for event attendees.
