Following a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that hit Mindanao on Monday morning, the Philippine Army's 10th Infantry Division (10ID) has activated its disaster response units to support affected communities. The division, based in Davao de Oro, placed its forces on heightened alert and dispatched Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) teams from the 27th and 28th Infantry Battalions, Task Force Gensan, the 1002nd Infantry Brigade, and the 10th Emergency Response Company. Troops are currently conducting rescue operations, assessing damage, clearing routes, and providing relief, in close coordination with the Office of Civil Defense, local government units, the Philippine National Police, and the Bureau of Fire Protection. Maj. Gen. Alvin Luzon, the division commander, emphasized the military's commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of the Mindanao residents during this challenging time. The 10ID continues to monitor the situation and is ready to deploy additional resources as necessary.
