The 10th China-South Asia Expo, taking place from June 11-16 in Kunming, Yunnan province, is set to strengthen trade relations between China and South Asian nations. With bilateral trade surpassing $200 billion in 2025, a 10.7% year-on-year increase, the expo aims to facilitate investment in established and emerging industries. Officials announced that nearly 800 booths will be available for South Asian countries, promoting their textiles and handicrafts in the Chinese market. China has also implemented zero-tariff policies for least developed countries in the region, enhancing trade access. The expo will draw participants from over 60 countries and is expected to foster cooperation in various sectors, including infrastructure, green development, and the digital economy. Vice-Minister of Commerce Yan Dong emphasized the need for greater trade liberalization and improved services to lower costs for South Asian businesses. Experts believe that the collaboration could lead to significant economic benefits, leveraging South Asia's resources and China's technological advantages.
