Starting June, electricity consumers in Uttar Pradesh will face a nearly 10% increase in their bills due to the imposition of a Fuel and Power Purchase Adjustment Surcharge (FPPAS) by the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL). This surcharge is intended to recover the rising costs associated with fuel and power purchases, which have been impacting electricity distribution companies. The additional charge will be collected separately from the regular tariff and will affect all consumer categories, including domestic and commercial users, with the exact impact varying based on individual consumption levels.
