Severe flooding in Guwahati, Assam, India, has led to the death of one person and disrupted daily life due to torrential overnight rains. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported 215.9 mm of rainfall, resulting in knee-deep water on many roads and chest-high water in some areas. The victim, identified as Payal Nath, fell into a drain near the Northeast Frontier Railway headquarters. In response to the flooding, the Kamrup Metropolitan District administration ordered the closure of all government and private schools.
