To accommodate the surge in summer travel, Southern Railway has launched a special superfast train service between Chennai and Kanniyakumari for Summer 2026. The service, designated as Train No. 06045/06046, will operate on select Fridays and Sundays, departing from Chennai Egmore at 11:50 PM and arriving in Kanniyakumari at 1:00 PM the following day. Return journeys from Kanniyakumari will leave at 11:25 PM on specified Sundays, reaching Chennai by 11:30 AM the next day. Key stops along the route include Villupuram, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, and Tirunelveli, enhancing connectivity for passengers from both urban and rural areas. The train offers various classes, including 2 AC Two-Tier, 2 AC Three-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class, making it accessible for different travel preferences.
