Guy Moot, co-chair and CEO of Warner Chappell Music, has been announced as the recipient of the 2026 Music Industry Trusts Award (MITS), making him the first music publisher to earn this prestigious honor. The award celebrates Moot's impressive 30-plus year career characterized by a commitment to songwriters and the belief in music's ability to educate and heal. The MITS will be presented at a gala on November 9, 2026, at Grosvenor House Hotel in central London, benefiting charities like The BRIT Trust and Nordoff & Robbins. Moot expressed his pride in receiving the award, stating it highlights the value of songwriters and their music. His career began in retail before he transitioned to A&R in 1984, eventually rising through the ranks at EMI Music Publishing and playing a key role in the Sony-EMI merger in Europe. Under his leadership, Warner Chappell's roster has expanded to include artists like Dua Lipa and Cardi B. Toby Leighton-Pope, co-chair of the MITS Award Committee, praised Moot's extensive influence in the industry, underscoring the significance of this recognition.
