Milind Narvekar, a party secretary, indicated a 99% likelihood of Thackeray's candidacy, while also acknowledging a 1% uncertainty due to Thackeray's decision-making. The MVA, which holds 47 MLAs in the Assembly, can secure only one seat in this election, making Thackeray's candidacy crucial. The official announcement regarding his nomination is expected soon, as Thackeray has reportedly prepared the necessary documents. If he declines to contest, the Congress may consider presenting its own candidate.
