A man has been arrested following an alleged sexual assault on a woman at a Wasabi restaurant located in Birmingham New Street train station. The incident occurred around 1pm on Sunday, May 17, when the woman entered the eatery and was approached by a man who blocked her path and attempted to engage her in conversation. Reports indicate that the man then sexually assaulted her. Several customers witnessed the assault and intervened, prompting the arrest of the suspect at the scene. Following his arrest on suspicion of sexual assault, the man has been released on bail as investigations by the British Transport Police (BTP) continue. BTP officials are appealing for any witnesses to come forward to assist in their investigation. The suspect is described as a white male, around 30 years old, with tanned skin, a buzz cut, and light-coloured eyes, dressed in black clothing and a black bomber jacket at the time of the incident. Witnesses are encouraged to contact BTP via text or phone with any information.
