This marks the NDA's third consecutive term in power, having first come to office in 2016. The oath-taking ceremony took place at 11.40 am at the Veterinary College Field in Khanapara, Guwahati, and was attended by notable figures including US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor. Sarma, aged 57, is the first non-Congress leader in Assam to serve consecutive terms as Chief Minister. Alongside him, four other leaders will be sworn in as ministers, including Rameswar Teli, Ajanta Neog, Atul Bora, and Charan Boro, representing the BJP and its alliance partners Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland People's Front (BPF). The BJP alone secured 82 seats, marking a significant milestone for the party in the state assembly.
