The Indian National Congress (INC) is reportedly on the verge of ending its long-standing political alliance with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Tamil Nadu. This potential split follows the Congress's support for Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which made a stunning debut in the state assembly elections by winning 108 seats out of 234. In contrast, the DMK was significantly weakened, securing only 59 seats, while Congress managed just five. The INC's leadership, including President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, convened to discuss the implications of this shift, which reflects a growing grassroots sentiment favoring TVK over the DMK. DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai expressed outrage over Congress's actions, accusing them of betrayal.
