A 65-year-old man with a criminal history was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting and murdering a four-year-old girl, prompting significant public outrage and protests in the region. Fadnavis assured the victim's family of the government's support and emphasized the need for a fast-tracked trial to achieve justice swiftly. He acknowledged public sentiments favoring severe punishment for heinous crimes but reiterated the importance of adhering to democratic laws. The Chief Minister also addressed criticism from opposition parties regarding rising crime rates, suggesting they reflect on their own governance failures while in power.
