The Vande Bharat Express, Kerala's first semi-high-speed train, has successfully completed three years of service since its launch on April 25, 2023, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This train operates between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod, covering a distance of 588 km in about 8 hours and 5 minutes. The train significantly reduces the travel time between these two cities by nearly three hours. Train number 20634 departs from Trivandrum Central at 05:15 hrs and arrives in Kasaragod at 13:20 hrs, while the return train number 20633 leaves Kasaragod at 14:33 hrs and reaches Trivandrum Central by 22:40 hrs. The Vande Bharat Express makes stops at eight key stations, including Kollam, Chengannur, and Kozhikode, and covers 11 districts in total. Ticket prices are set at ₹1,615 for AC Chair Cars and ₹2,905 for Executive Chair Cars, making it a premium travel option for passengers in the region.
