Pune Airport in Maharashtra, India, reopened on Saturday morning after being temporarily closed due to an incident involving an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft. The runway was blocked late Friday night when a fighter aircraft experienced an undercarriage failure during landing at approximately 10:25 pm. Authorities completed necessary repairs and safety checks, allowing departures to resume at 7:30 am and arrivals at 8:00 am. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol confirmed the situation and remained in contact with airport and Air Force officials to expedite the resumption of services. The IAF reported that the aircrew were safe and there was no damage to civil property. The dual-use nature of Pune Airport, which serves both civilian flights and military operations, makes it vulnerable to disruptions from defense-related incidents.
