Flight operations at Pune Airport in Maharashtra, India, began returning to normal on Saturday morning after a disruption caused by an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft incident late Friday night. The incident occurred around 10:25 PM when a fighter aircraft suffered an undercarriage failure during landing, rendering the runway unusable. It took nearly four to five hours to clear the aircraft and restore the runway for operations. During this time, at least 43 arrivals and 48 departures were cancelled across various airlines, with IndiGo facing the heaviest impact, cancelling 31 arrivals and 34 departures. Other airlines, including Air India, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air, also reported cancellations. Following emergency repairs, departures resumed at 7:30 AM and arrivals at 8:00 AM. Pune airport director Santosh Dhoke confirmed that coordinated efforts with the IAF and other agencies ensured safety protocols were followed during the incident. While some residual delays may persist, normal operations are expected to stabilize throughout the day.
