As complaints about power cuts rise in Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Ashish Goyal, the Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) and Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), conducted a review of the electricity supply arrangements. During the meeting, Goyal stressed the importance of maintaining a consistent power supply, especially during the ongoing heatwave, which has severely impacted residents. He directed officials to ensure that rural areas receive 18 hours of electricity and urban areas enjoy 24-hour power supply. Goyal also called for vigilance in areas experiencing sudden increases in load during night hours, which can strain transformers and lines. He instructed teams to conduct inspections and resolve issues such as transformer damage and tripping without delay. Furthermore, to enhance public communication, WhatsApp groups will be established involving public representatives, media, and social workers to share important updates on power supply. A high-level meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to take place to further assess the electricity situation and address consumer grievances.
