A tragic incident occurred in Birmingham city centre early this morning when a 28-year-old woman was fatally struck by a black Audi RSQ8. The collision took place on Dartmouth Middleway shortly before 2:30 AM. Following the incident, the woman was taken to the hospital but unfortunately did not survive her injuries. In connection with the accident, a 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drugs. He remains in police custody for questioning. In the aftermath, West Midlands Police closed a section of the A4540, between Jennens Road and Great Lister Street, to facilitate their investigation.
