During a recent visit to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari convened a Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) meeting to discuss crucial improvements in patient care services. Key topics included enhancing medical facilities, eliminating touts from the hospital premises, and improving overall cleanliness and hygiene. With SSKM being the busiest state-run medical facility, averaging around 10,000 patients daily, addressing patient grievances such as long waiting times and tout-related issues is vital. The meeting also highlighted the importance of achieving zero-refusal in patient admissions and strengthening the hospital's emergency unit. Adhikari expressed optimism about ongoing development projects, including the Cancer Care Hub, and emphasized the potential for central government aid to enhance services further. This was Adhikari's second visit to SSKM since taking office, reflecting a commitment to improving healthcare in the state.
