Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vietnamese President Tô Lâm have significantly enhanced their countries' strategic partnership, announcing cooperation in critical minerals, rare earths, and energy security. They set an ambitious target of $25 billion in bilateral trade by 2030 during a joint press conference. A total of 13 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, covering diverse sectors such as digital technologies, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and education. The Prime Minister also highlighted the cultural ties between the two nations, referencing the impact of Buddhist relics sent from India, which were viewed by over 1.5 crore people in Vietnam. He reiterated Vietnam's importance in India's Act East Policy and stressed the need for enhanced defense and security cooperation to ensure regional stability.
