Rabbi Yishai Por, aged 53, was tragically stabbed to death on Wednesday at the Chazon Ish kollel, a religious studies center located on HaAri Street in Bnei Brak, Israel. The attack occurred while he was studying with his 13-year-old son, who witnessed the horrifying event. Security footage captured the suspect fleeing the scene immediately after the stabbing. Magen David Adom emergency teams provided initial medical treatment, but Rabbi Por was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Sheba Medical Center due to a penetrating back wound. Israel Police have classified the incident as criminal and are investigating a prior dispute between the rabbi and the suspect, which reportedly stemmed from disagreements over Torah study. The suspect, described as a street drifter with a history of mental health issues, had recently been residing in the kollel complex.
