On Sunday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the construction of 204 Godabarisha Mishra Model Primary Schools in Khordha district. This initiative is designed to bolster the primary education infrastructure in the state. Majhi emphasized that primary education is critical for students' career foundations, advocating for a structured educational environment integrated with technology. The state government aims to enhance learning outcomes and equip students with both academic knowledge and practical skills necessary for today’s job market. The Godabarisha Mishra Model Primary School scheme, which was initially launched in January, encompasses plans for 2,200 model schools statewide, with a total investment of ₹12,000 crore. Currently, construction has begun on 322 of these schools. Additionally, the Chief Minister announced the appointment of 26,615 teachers and non-teaching staff over the past two years, with recruitment for another 45,000 teachers expected to be completed within three years.
