The investigation into the deaths of two MBA students from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) at a concert in Goregaon, Mumbai, has intensified. The police reported that Pratik Pandey, a final-year MBA student, ordered 10 Ecstasy pills from alleged drug peddler Anand Patel for ₹1,500 each. The pills were delivered to the NESCO Exhibition Centre before the '999999999 Music Concert' and consumed by ten students, including the deceased Shreya Rai and Bismat Singh Bhasin. Following consumption, Rai and another student experienced severe breathing difficulties and collapsed, leading to their hospitalization, where they later died. The police have also detained another suspect linked to the drug supply.
