Akhilesh Yadav (chief of the Samajwadi Party) has called on the Uttar Pradesh government to take swift action in response to devastating storms that have led to 54 deaths across the state. The storms affected areas including Bhadohi, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, and Badaun, causing significant destruction as homes, trees, and walls collapsed. Yadav expressed his sorrow over the loss of life and emphasized the need for immediate relief measures. He urged the government to provide free medical treatment for the injured, ensure adequate supplies of food and drinking water, and arrange temporary housing for those displaced by the disaster. Additionally, he called for dignified last rites for the deceased and a prompt assessment of the damage to facilitate insurance claims and compensation. Yadav also encouraged party workers in unaffected areas to assist those impacted by the storms.
