In a tragic incident, a 24-year-old social media influencer from Lucknow reportedly died by suicide in Saadatganj just six months after her marriage. Her family has accused her husband and in-laws of murder and dowry harassment, claiming that they pressured her for additional dowry despite her having received Rs 7 lakh in cash and various household items as gifts during the marriage. The woman married on December 9, 2025, and her family alleges that her in-laws demanded a car as part of the dowry, which they did not fulfill. They stated that she had confided in them about the harassment she faced, leading to several visits to her matrimonial home in an attempt to resolve the issues. Following her death, her uncle lodged a police complaint, alleging that her in-laws were responsible for her death due to their persistent dowry demands. This incident has raised serious concerns about the ongoing issue of dowry-related violence in India.
