Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) has marked a significant achievement by crossing 10,000 rooftop solar installations in North and North-West Delhi, with a total capacity of 160.3 MWp as of April 2026. This milestone is part of its flagship initiative, Project 'Suryansh', which aligns with the Indian government's clean energy objectives under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Residential consumers lead the adoption with 8,451 installations, benefiting from lower electricity bills and the option to feed surplus power back to the grid. The pace of installations has accelerated, especially in FY 2025-26, which saw 5,378 new systems added, the highest annual increase recorded in the region. The growth is attributed to financial incentives, including subsidies that reduce upfront costs, and extensive consumer engagement campaigns, such as the deployment of 'Solar Sakhis' and 'Solar Ambassadors'. Tata Power-DDL has also solarized its own facilities, generating 2.1 MWp of clean energy, showcasing its commitment to renewable energy.
