The Hyderabad Traffic Police has announced a 45-day traffic diversion starting from May 13 due to ongoing construction work for an RCC Box Drain between SBI Bank, Darussalam, and the Chaknawadi Culvert. This construction is affecting a busy stretch that connects several central areas of the city. According to the traffic advisory, vehicles from Mallepally, Bhoiguda Kaman, and Aghapura heading towards Alaska T Junction are being rerouted via the Ek Minar stretch. Additionally, traffic from Alaska Junction to Darussalam is being diverted near Calcutta Sweet House through the Chaknawadi by-lanes. Commuters are urged to plan their journeys in advance, as congestion is anticipated during peak office and school hours, particularly around Darussalam and Alaska Junction. Traffic personnel will be deployed to assist in regulating vehicle movement. The construction project aims to enhance drainage infrastructure and alleviate waterlogging issues during heavy rains, making these diversions crucial for daily commuters and local residents.
