West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has declared a total net worth of ₹15.37 lakh in her latest election affidavit, reaffirming her position as one of the least wealthy chief ministers in India. The veteran leader of the Trinamool Congress party does not own any house, vehicle, or agricultural land, which is uncommon among senior political figures. Her affidavit reveals that she has ₹75,700 in cash and nearly ₹12.76 lakh in bank deposits, primarily in a savings account. Additionally, she owns 9.75 grams of jewellery valued at approximately ₹1.45 lakh. Banerjee's annual income for the financial year 2024-25 is reported at ₹23.21 lakh, an increase from ₹20.72 lakh in the previous year. Despite this rise in income, her overall net worth has declined from ₹16.72 lakh declared during the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections. This decline highlights the financial disparities among Indian political leaders, as evidenced by N. Chandrababu Naidu's declaration of assets exceeding ₹900 crore.
