Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi held a meeting with leaders from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at the Governor House in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, to address pressing provincial issues. The discussions focused on the province's constitutional and economic rights, including the need for a robust case to be presented to the federal government for fair treatment. Among the attendees were former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and MNA Junaid Akber. The meeting comes shortly after KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced a province-wide pen-down strike in response to perceived discrimination by the federal government regarding the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and the management of wheat and gas supplies. Afridi has accused the federal government of delaying fund releases to KP, particularly for merged districts. The KP government is advocating for an increase in its NFC share from 14.62% to 18.96% based on population. Additionally, the province is grappling with a significant CNG crisis that has halted economic activities and left citizens struggling to access affordable fuel. Kundi reiterated the importance of presenting a united front to the federal government to secure justice for the province.
