India is making strides to bid for the 2038 Asian Games, following its recent success in securing the 2030 Commonwealth Games. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has communicated its intent to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) earlier this month, emphasizing India's readiness to host the continental event. This year, the Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with Doha hosting in 2030 and Riyadh in 2034. The IOA's CEO, Raghuram Iyer, confirmed the discussions and expressed optimism about India's bid. The potential hosting city is likely to be Ahmedabad, which is also preparing for the Commonwealth Games and has been a focal point for India's Olympic aspirations. The Gujarat government is investing in sports infrastructure to support these ambitions. India will face competition from Mongolia and South Korea for the hosting rights, and an OCA evaluation team is scheduled to visit India to assess its preparedness.
