As schools prepare to reopen after the summer vacation, District Collector Anand Mohan conducted inspections at several educational institutions in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, to assess their readiness. He visited Kallanai Corporation Girls’ Higher Secondary School and MDT Hindu College Higher Secondary School, focusing on the safety and cleanliness of the premises. During informal discussions with reporters, Mohan highlighted that recent meetings were organized with heads of educational institutions and local bodies to establish clear guidelines for maintaining a safe environment for students. The inspections included evaluations of essential facilities such as drinking water tanks, toilets, and furniture. On the first day of school, students will receive their textbooks and uniforms. Furthermore, the Collector mentioned that the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation has been instructed to ensure the operation of sufficient buses on time, especially on routes heavily used by students. Chief Educational Officer M. Sivakumar accompanied the Collector during these inspections, reinforcing the commitment to a smooth and safe reopening of schools in the district.
