Ganeshan, the Fisheries Wing District Secretary of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), stated that the party is confident in forming the government in Tamil Nadu under the leadership of actor-turned-politician Vijay. He noted that the 'Vijay wave' has resonated throughout Tamil Nadu, leading to the party's win of 108 seats in the 234-member assembly. Although TVK is ten seats short of the majority, Ganeshan believes that Vijay will surely become the Chief Minister and remain in power. The Congress party has formally announced its support for TVK, breaking its previous alliance with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). This shift in support is significant as the Congress had previously campaigned as part of the DMK-led coalition. Additionally, security measures outside Vijay's residence in Chennai have been scaled back, indicating a shift in police presence as the political landscape evolves. Sources suggest that Vijay may not take the oath of office immediately as he seeks to secure additional support to reach the majority threshold in the assembly.
