Iran has renewed its diplomatic ties with Oman to facilitate peace talks with the United States, as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited Muscat to communicate with senior Omani officials. This move comes after discussions in Islamabad, Pakistan, yielded no significant breakthroughs. Oman has a longstanding role as a neutral mediator in US-Iran relations, having previously facilitated dialogues. Following Araghchi's visit, he returned to Islamabad for further consultations. Meanwhile, Pakistan has eased restrictions on heavy traffic in its twin cities, indicating a reduced likelihood of immediate US-Iran talks. The situation remains tense, with over 10,000 security personnel deployed in anticipation of potential discussions. Experts suggest that Pakistan's involvement may be aimed at assisting the US in mobilizing military resources in the region.
