The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has announced a comprehensive improvement policy for Class 10 (SSC) students, allowing them to retake exams in June 2026. This initiative is designed for those who either failed or were unsatisfied with their scores in the main board exams. The board reported an overall pass rate of 83.86% for the 2026 SSC exams. Under the new 'Best of Two' policy, students can take the supplementary exam in all subjects, and the higher score between the main and supplementary exams will be considered final. This policy aims to alleviate concerns for students who received grades 'E1' or 'E2', as they must reappear to qualify for the SSC certificate. Students must achieve at least a Grade 'D' (33-40 marks) in each subject to pass, while differently-abled candidates have a relaxed passing requirement of 20%. The improvement opportunity spans various subjects, including languages, core subjects, and vocational courses. More than 32,000 students are eligible to take advantage of this policy, with schools expected to provide further details on the application process for the supplementary exams.
