The second Civil Investiture Ceremony for the Padma Awards will take place on June 23, 2023, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where President Droupadi Murmu will honor 65 distinguished individuals. This follows the first ceremony held last month, where 66 awardees were recognized. This year, a total of 131 Padma Awards were approved, comprising five Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri awards. Among the notable recipients is Mammootty, a veteran Malayalam actor, who will receive the Padma Bhushan for his remarkable contributions to Indian cinema, having acted in over 400 films in a career spanning five decades. R Madhavan, known for his work in television and films, will be awarded the Padma Shri, alongside the late Satish Shah, who will receive a posthumous Padma Shri for his celebrated performances in theatre and television. The ceremony will also honor Gadde Rajendra Prasad, a prominent figure in Telugu cinema, with the Padma Shri for his extensive charitable work and contributions to the film industry.
