Rakesh Prashar, the senior deputy mayor of Ludhiana, Punjab, has raised serious allegations against a contractor responsible for managing waste from the Haibowal dairy complex. Prashar claims that the contractor is not processing the waste as stipulated in their contract, which was awarded for crores of rupees. Instead of converting the waste into fuel or manure, the contractor is reportedly dumping it at the Jainpur waste management plant. Prashar has formally written to Neeru Katyal Gupta, the municipal corporation commissioner, urging action on this issue. He emphasized the importance of the contract for ensuring proper disposal of cow dung from the dairy units. Despite repeated attempts, no response has been received from Gupta regarding the allegations.
