The Brown County Library is set to kick off its 2026 Summer Reading Program with a family celebration on June 6, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Central Library located at 515 Pine St. The event will feature an interactive comedy juggling show by local favorites Miller and Mike and a special appearance by Curious George, the beloved character from children's literature. Attendees can engage in various activities, including a group art project, scavenger hunt, and carnival games. The program, which runs until August 10, aims to encourage reading for all ages, helping to combat the 'summer slide' in literacy skills. It includes an Early Literacy Program for ages 0-4, a Children's Program for grades K-5, and a Tween and Teen Program for grades 6 and up. Participants can earn prizes from over 50 local businesses and enter a grand prize drawing.
