Tamil Nadu emerged as the state with the highest number of suicides among daily wage workers, reporting 10,556 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 6,811 and Telangana with 5,745. Notably, 62.9% of the victims came from families earning less than ₹1 lakh (approximately $1,200 USD) annually. The leading cause of these suicides was family problems, which accounted for 35% of cases, while the predominant method was hanging, used in 62.3% of instances.
