The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has announced plans to redevelop Chatori Gali, located near the 1090 intersection in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, into a modern walking street. This initiative will feature the construction of 120 kiosks, which will accommodate both local shopkeepers and multinational food chains, creating a diverse culinary experience. Existing shopkeepers and hawkers will be relocated to these kiosks, while the remaining spaces will be allocated to branded outlets. The project will be executed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, with tenders already issued to select a private agency responsible for managing the project and its operations. The LDA has set the monthly rent for each kiosk at ₹5,000 (approximately $60 USD) for a year, with agreements allowing for renewals based on compliance and performance. Additionally, to alleviate congestion in the area, the LDA plans to develop high-tech parking facilities for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, with a separate tender issued for this aspect of the project.
