In a tragic incident, Anand Kumar (40) was shot dead in the Beur locality of Patna on Saturday, allegedly due to a long-standing land dispute with his relatives. The incident took place behind a private hospital, where Anand was shot behind the ear. His family has accused his paternal relatives of orchestrating the murder, with the matter being a title suit pending in court. Anand's brother, Arvind Kumar, claimed that the murder was a conspiracy stemming from the land issue. The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the suspected relatives, Bhutali Rai and Raju Kumar, and are conducting raids to apprehend them. Phulwarisharif Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sushil Kumar stated that all angles of the case are being investigated, including the family’s allegations. The body has been sent for a postmortem examination, and police are also reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity to gather more evidence on the assailants. This incident highlights ongoing tensions related to land disputes in the region.
