The Shiv Sena (UBT) has officially named Ambadas Danve as its candidate for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) elections, signaling a new chapter in the political dynamics of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar stated that the MVA had been prepared to support Uddhav Thackeray if he chose to run, but the alliance has now shifted its focus to Danve. Sanjay Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP, confirmed Danve's nomination on social media, stating that he will file his nomination form at 11 o'clock the following day. The Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), represented by MLA Rohit Pawar, has pledged support for Danve, commending his previous work as Leader of the Opposition. Pawar noted that Thackeray's decision to nominate a party worker instead of contesting himself was unexpected but reflects a commitment to party representation. The Congress party is expected to finalize its stance on the matter soon.
