Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced plans to secure international airport status for Darbhanga airport during a ceremony where security responsibilities were transferred to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The new terminal is expected to be inaugurated by the end of the year and may be named after the renowned Mithila poet Vidyapati.
