Porsche's Manthey Racing, a team majority-owned by Porsche since 2013, has launched a new upgrade kit for the Taycan Turbo GT, aimed at enhancing its track performance, particularly at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This Manthey Kit requires the Taycan to have the factory-installed Weissach package, which reduces weight through features like carbon-fiber trim and lighter components. With the kit, the Taycan's 0-60 mph time improves from 2.2 seconds to 2.1 seconds. Notably, factory driver Lars Kern achieved a remarkable lap time of 6:55.553, shaving off 12 seconds from the previous record. The kit includes aerodynamic enhancements such as a larger rear wing and new underbody diffusers, which contribute to increased downforce. Additionally, the downforce levels are tunable, allowing drivers to optimize their vehicle's performance for various tracks.
